1. Who can you contact?

This notice describes how MatchyDuo currently works.

2. What does the game store?

Games and choices

The game and reply identifiers, topic and category, the identifiers and order of the five selected cards, submission time and a random player identifier. We use these to calculate the Matchy score and let you reopen the game link later.

Session

The matchy_session cookie lasts up to 30 days and connects your browser to a random player identifier and a security value stored on the server. It does not contain your name or email address. Deleting it may remove your access to previous games as the original player.

Language preference

The matchy_lang cookie remembers your manual language choice for up to one year. Without it, we use your browser's preferred language: Hungarian for Hungarian, English otherwise. We do not request your location.

Choices saved on your device

Your browser's local storage keeps the topic, category, selected cards and submission identifier for an unfinished game, plus whether you have hidden the rules. We delete the local draft after a successful submission. Other local data may remain until overwritten or until you clear this site's browser data.

Abuse prevention

To limit excessive submissions, we use a fingerprint derived from the submitting IP address and the current hour, a request count and an expiry time. This is a technical identifier, not full anonymization. It expires one hour after the first submission for that hourly period; expired entries are cleaned up when further submissions arrive.

Server logs

The hosting provider may process IP addresses and technical request data and keep access and error logs. The game's own database does not store raw IP addresses. Retention of hosting logs and backups depends on separate hosting settings and is not controlled by the current application code.

Contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide and your message. We use these to answer your question or request.

3. Why is this data needed?

Game and session data support the features you request: saving, sharing, recognizing your own reply and comparing choices. Security data protects the service and its players. Local saving helps you keep an unfinished selection.

The score only shows the overlap between the selected cards. It is not a personality test and does not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.

4. How long is data kept?

Submitted games and replies currently have no automatic expiry. Game data remains until manually deleted. Cookie, local storage and abuse-prevention periods are described above. Clearing browser data alone does not delete a game saved on the server.

You can send a deletion request to hello@dreszer.hu . Include the relevant game link; we may need to verify your connection to your choices. Do not send passwords or cookies by email.

5. Who can see the choices?

Anyone with a game link can see the topic and submit their own five cards. The host's selection is shown only after a reply is submitted. The host sees comparisons with the replies they receive; guests see their own result.

The “Send the result back” feature creates a separate result link. Anyone with that link can view both card selections and the score for that comparison, without signing in or having an earlier session. It does not grant access to other players' results or allow changes to the choices. Only send it to people you want to share it with.

The link preview image is publicly accessible and shows the topic, but not the card choices. The app you choose for sharing handles the text and link under its own privacy rules. MatchyDuo does not request your recipients' contacts.

6. Cookies, analytics and advertising

The site currently has no embedded advertising trackers, visitor analytics or social tracking code. Images and fonts load from our own hosting. The game uses the functional cookie and local storage described above.

You can delete cookies and local data in your browser's site settings. If you block the session cookie, saving choices and recognizing previous results will not work correctly.

7. In words kids can understand

Do not enter your name, address or school — there are no fields for them. You only choose pictures. The “Kids” and “Adults” buttons select topic packs; they do not check or record your age. If you have questions about your data or sharing a link, ask a parent or another trusted adult for help.

8. What are your rights?

Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If we cannot identify you, we may need further information linked to your game to handle your request.

Requests normally require a response within one month. You may complain to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, and you may also seek a judicial remedy.
